Getting to Samedan

Hotel Donatz is located in the centre of Samedan in the Engadine. You can reach us quickly and easily by Rhaetian Railway or by car.

Arriving by car

You can travel to the Engadine by car from anywhere in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria.

Zurich – Samedan: 200 km, 3 hours
Milan – Samedan: 175 km, 3 hours
Munich – Samedan: 300 km, 4 hours
Basle – Samedan: 250 km, 4 hours

Check the current road conditions before you travel to the Engadine. Alternatively, we recommend using the Vereina Car Transporter train from Klosters to the Lower Engadine.

You can park directly at the Hotel Donatz – free of charge in the outdoor parking spaces or in the underground car park for CHF 15.00 per night.

Important Information about the Route

Arriving by Public Transport

To get to Hotel Donatz, we recommend the following route: From Samedan Railway Station, follow Via Retica. At the end of the road, turn left onto Via Plazzet and follow the road until you arrive at Hotel Donatz.

The journey via the Albula and Bernina line with the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) is particularly recommended. On the way from Chur to the Engadine, you will pass through winding tunnels and viaducts and enjoy some spectacular views of the picturesque landscape along the way.
